E3 Off the Starboard Bow!

At last, my plans are set. The goal is in sight and everything that is necessary to reach it has been finalized. In all my toolishness, I am of course referring to next week's E3 conference, which I will now certainly be attending. Last year I had a main purpose when I was at E3: providing the first and best coverage of Serious Sam II. This year, there isn't anything directly related to my businesses (at least that's been announced...I'd be up for a nice surprise), so the goal is simply to have fun and cover what we can.

I was unsure about attending this year mainly due to the amount of work I needed to get done next week and because I was unsure about a place to stay. The first problem was recently taken care of due to cancelled classes and assignments being pushed back until after I return. And last night I finalized a (free) place to stay: the USC Pike house, within walking distance (~1.5 miles) of the convention center. I really didn't want to stay where I did last year, as I felt I was an inconvenience (not much space) and the distance from the convention center required that I spend 4 hours a day on public transportation, which really made each day even longer than they should have been and led to an average of 2.5 hours of sleep each night.

I plan on covering the obvious: PlayStation 3, Nintendo Oui Wii, Command and Conquer 3, Gears of War, Prey, Crysis, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, BioShock (!!), and Unreal Tournament 2007, but that'll only take up so much time. If you have anything you are interested in (take a look at a partial list of confirmed titles), or just want me to check on certain companies (take a look at the floorplans), let me know either here, in person, or via email.

Now I just have to make it through the next week and get two weeks worth of work done. And then, it's off to what looks to be the best E3 ever.
